Welcome to the Eureka West Recreation Area, a peaceful destination about 4 miles east of Fort McCoy along County Route 316. Here you’ll find convenient amenities such as parking, a boat ramp, picnic pavilion, and a fishing pier for land-based anglers. Eureka serves as the entry point to the scenic Rodman Reservoir area, making it an ideal spot to venture into the riverine landscapes downstream to Payne’s Landing or to paddle upstream along the Ocklawaha River towards Silver Springs State Park at State Route 40. Next to Eureka West is the Ocklawaha Canoe Outpost, a private facility offering campsites, cabins, and shuttle services for canoe and kayak enthusiasts exploring the river and reservoir.
