Welcome to the serene Estero Bay Preserve, a sanctuary where nature thrives and awaits your exploration. Share the winding trails with a diverse array of native plants and wildlife species that call this park home. Nestled within the heart of Florida, the preserve is easily accessible from two distinct entrances: the Winkler Point entrance on Winkler Road in Fort Myers, and the Estero River Scrub entrance on Broadway Ave. W. in Estero.
Embark on a journey along the numerous miles of trails that traverse the uplands of the preserve, where you can immerse yourself in the beauty of the protected wildlife and native vegetation. The trails offer a rugged and immersive experience, at times flooded seasonally, so be sure to don sturdy footwear and bring along essentials like insect repellent, sunscreen, and plenty of water.
Feel free to bring your furry companions along, as Estero Bay Preserve is a dog-friendly destination with the requirement that pets remain leashed at six feet or shorter, and waste is bagged and removed. Two observation decks near the marshes provide ideal vantage points for observing wading birds, waterfowl, and other wildlife in their natural habitat.
For those entering through the Estero River Scrub access, the landscape transforms into a mosaic of ecosystems waiting to be discovered.
