Welcome to Faver-Dykes State Park

Welcome to Faver-Dykes State Park! Step into a serene oasis where Pellicer Creek meanders through the landscape, inviting you to unwind and embrace the beauty of nature. Take a leisurely stroll along the winding nature trail, set up a charming picnic, or settle in at our cozy campground for a night under the stars. Conveniently situated on the outskirts of St. Augustine, the oldest city in America, Faver-Dykes State Park offers a tranquil retreat just a stone’s throw away from the highway.

As you venture down the park’s main road, let yourself be transported back in time to experience the unspoiled wonders of the Real Florida. Bask in the shade of towering longleaf pines within a sandhill ecosystem that harkens back to a bygone era of the Sunshine State. Pellicer Creek, our southern boundary, beckons adventurers with its boat ramp, perfect for launching canoes, kayaks, and small boats. Whether you choose to paddle east towards the Pellicer flats and Matanzas River or head west to explore the freshwater origins, the creek offers a picturesque setting with an average depth of 2 to 6 feet.

Discover one of the most pristine estuarine tidal marshes along Florida’s east coast, teeming with a diverse array of salt and freshwater fish, as well as spectacular opportunities for birdwatching and wildlife observation. Surround yourself with the tranquil ambiance of the shady hardwood hammock, where generations of Floridians have reveled in the natural splendor of the region. With 30 campsites catering to RVs up to 35 feet or tents, Faver-Dykes State Park provides a peaceful haven for nature enthusiasts.

Explore the skies above as songbirds flaunt their vibrant plumage, eagles soar majestically, and falcons nest amidst the lush surroundings. Watch in awe as wading birds such as egrets, wood storks, white ibis, and herons grace the tidal marshes with their graceful presence. Delight in sightings of deer, turkeys, hawks, bobcats, and river otters as they go about their daily routines in this harmonious habitat. Faver-Dykes State Park is a sanctuary where nature thrives, offering a glimpse into the intricate tapestry of Florida’s diverse ecosystem.
